This blog is typically pretty silent whenever I’m in the States for awhile. My everyday life usually isn’t exotic enough to warrant taking up space.
But sometimes there are perfect strawberries, picked on a gray, drizzly day in May.
And with all the wedding business he’s getting lately, Kelley got a new camera and a new lens for both cameras. And then there was the little matter of him turning 26 today!
And then somehow we both had the day off from our respective jobs.
And the farm, not two miles from where his Dad and Annie live in Crozet, had just opened for the strawberry season.
And his best friend Veronica was free for the day AND her mom, Catherine, was in town for this week only. She is wonderful.
And what are the chances that all those stars would align?
We all love fruit and picking fruit and playing outdoors, and there were apple cider donuts afterwards and a trip to Bodo’s Bagels for lunch.
And SO many strawberries – over 5lbs for me and Kelley at just $2.89/lb!
And this boy got to have a wonderful birthday morning and spend time with people who love him super much!
